Trot Through Century-Old Trails.
This area of the Carolinas has a rich history
of the equestrian lifestyle and is adjacent to the legendary Tryon Hounds
hunt country of Polk County. Derbyshire's own equestrian trail system
connects to more than 160 miles of horse trails. Many of the trails date
back to the 1920's when people came to this area from across the country to
fox hunt and enjoy the extraordinary landscape.
Additionally, the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE), a 390 -acre
nature education and recreation center is located just 10 minutes away in
Tryon. The non- profit organization offers access to its land and services
for nature education and outdoor recreation.
